For over 140 years, The NYBR has worked tirelessly to meet the challenges that arise in the different seasons of our lives, helping people in times of crisis. As a global community, we remain in uncharted territory at this time, and the number of vulnerable members of our community increases weekly with more people finding themselves out of work and many are relying on us to be there for them to navigate these uncertainties.
The NYBR is committed to continuing to meet the needs of those we serve now more than ever. Our Chaplains are on the front lines, serving in area hospitals and correctional institutions. Whether responding to a disaster or assisting the community in the face of crisis, helping families when illness strikes or providing care to victims of abuse, The NYBR meets the ongoing challenges of aiding those who are most vulnerable among us.
Since 1881, The NYBR has worked to benefit the well-being of the entire community, both Jewish and non-Jewish. We believe it is imperative to be a moral voice regarding global concerns of our world. We are proud that The New York Board of Rabbis serves as a bridge of strength and promise between individual rabbis, the greater Jewish community and other faith communities.

As we prepare to gather around the Seder table this Passover, we are reminded of our sacred obligation to care for those in need. The New York Board of Rabbis’ Passover Campaign is a vital initiative that ensures individuals and families across our community experience the dignity, comfort, and joy of the holiday—no matter their circumstances.
Your generosity enables us to extend support to some of the most vulnerable members of our community through:
• Seder packages for homebound individuals, residents in long-term care, and those in correctional facilities.
• Holiday celebrations for developmentally disabled individuals, fostering inclusion and joy.
• Spiritual support for victims of abuse and violence, offering hope and healing.
• Training and education to combat child abuse and human trafficking.
• Compassionate care provided by our dedicated chaplains.
• Emergency assistance for individuals and families facing crises.
